In case of death, resignation or removal for cause of any of the appointive officers of the Town during their term of office, the Board of Trustees, by a majority vote of all the members thereof, may select and appoint a suitable person to fill the vacancy, who shall hold the office until the succeeding Board of Trustees takes office.
