All excavation in the street or alley shall be in conformity with this article and other ordinances of the Town and suitable barricades shall be placed around such excavation and shall be sufficient to protect all persons. From twilight to sunrise sufficient flares shall be kept burning near such excavations in order to protect all persons from injury or damage thereby. The person making such excavations shall be liable for all injuries or damages resulting from his or her failure to so guard such excavation, to give proper warning, and to protect persons and property on account of such excavations. Contractors shall comply with all requirements of OSHA and COSHA relating to excavation and the protection of workmen and the general public. (Ord. 1312 §1, 2019)
